Watch: Teaser Trailer for 'Inception'-Esque 'Mobius' with Jean Dujardin
"Do you know what a Möbius strip is?" Whoa. What do we have here. A trailer has debuted online for a film called Mobius, indeed based on the idea/involving the infamous "Möbius strip" concept developed by German mathematician August Ferdinand Möbius. The concept is used to illustrate an idea for a heist in the movie, featuring Jean Dujardin as well as Cécile De France and Tim Roth. With that opening line, at first I thought this could be a Funny or Die sketch ("do you know what a piece of paper is?") but this looks like it might be pretty damn interesting. So how exactly does the Möbius strip connect with a casino heist?
Watch the first teaser trailer for Eric Rochant's Mobius, originally from Allocine:
Taking place in Monaco, Oscar winner Jean Dujardin (The Artist) plays "an experienced spy tracking a powerful Russian oligarch (played by Tim Roth) suspected of laundering money through his bank," with Cécile de France "as a bright young trader." Set in the world of high finance and follows an FSB officer who falls in love with his agent, an American woman who works as a trader in a Russian bank. Mobius was both written and directed by French filmmaker Eric Rochant (Love Without Pity, Long Live the Republic, "Mafiosa") produced by Luc Besson's EuropaCorp. This hits theaters in France in February, but doesn't have a US distributor yet. We'll have to keep an eye on it for more release details or trailer updates. Interested?
