Mobius

"Do you know what a Möbius strip is?" Whoa. What do we have here. A trailer has debuted online for a film called Mobius, indeed based on the idea/involving the infamous "Möbius strip" concept developed by German mathematician August Ferdinand Möbius. The concept is used to illustrate an idea for a heist in the movie, featuring Jean Dujardin as well as Cécile De France and Tim Roth. With that opening line, at first I thought this could be a Funny or Die sketch ("do you know what a piece of paper is?") but this looks like it might be pretty damn interesting. So how exactly does the Möbius strip connect with a casino heist?

Watch the first teaser trailer for Eric Rochant's Mobius, originally from Allocine:

Taking place in Monaco, Oscar winner Jean Dujardin (The Artist) plays "an experienced spy tracking a powerful Russian oligarch (played by Tim Roth) suspected of laundering money through his bank," with Cécile de France "as a bright young trader." Set in the world of high finance and follows an FSB officer who falls in love with his agent, an American woman who works as a trader in a Russian bank. Mobius was both written and directed by French filmmaker Eric Rochant (Love Without Pity, Long Live the Republic, "Mafiosa") produced by Luc Besson's EuropaCorp. This hits theaters in France in February, but doesn't have a US distributor yet. We'll have to keep an eye on it for more release details or trailer updates. Interested?

If you are using Firefox and still can't see content on the web published in the US, try the AnonymoX addon; you can find it on Mozilla's site. Read the instructions, and remember you can turn the addon on/off.

Well, the trailer seems to be back again (and looks interesting), but yesterday it was actually removed "due to copyright infringement".

Here's a simple illustration of what a mobius strip is, being used to give us an idea of how a 4th dimension could exist. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCQx9U6awFw&t=3m40s Perhaps this movie will involve multiple dimensions?

That is a real teaser trailer, good cast looking forward to it.

Yeah no doubt. I'm pretty sure this trailer actually explained nothing except literally what a mobius strip is. All the shots are of people making out or walking or staring.

So the graphic at the end came in almost exactly like Inception and the music was almost like inception and the idea of having only narration over a bunch of footage is a lot like inception...why don't they just come right out and say "Hey, we want to rip off the trailer(I say trailer because I haven't seen the movie, it could be completely different) Let's just call it Inception: Monaco
