'Wedding Crashers' Reunion: Will Ferrell Gets 'The Internship' Comedy
This past April we learned that Wedding Crashers duo Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson would reunite for another R-rated comedy in the form of The Internship, a film that will allow Shawn Levy to enter the world of raunchy comedy (something I'm extremely excited to see). Now the film gets even sweeter for fans of the aforementioned wedding comedy as Variety has word that Will Ferrell will have a small role in the film which follows Vaughn and Wilson as old-school salesmen who find themselves suddenly unemployed and passed-by in the digital world and try to reinvent themselves by becoming interns at a tech company.
Ferrell will have a role, likely the same size as his turn in Wedding Crashers, that will see him playing Wilson's brother-in-law, who sells home electronics and has no problem making inappropriate comments about his attractive customers. Sounds like a perfect role for the "Saturday Night Live" veteran who could insult my grandmother at her funeral (that he obvious crashed) and still make me laugh. This is pretty much the unofficial Wedding Crashers sequel now, and as I said before, putting Levy behind the camera for a comedy like this should yield interesting results and give the director a whole new sandbox in which to play.
