Will Arnett and Channing Tatum to Voice LEGO Batman & Superman
While audiences are still waiting for DC Comics to assemble their superheroes for a Justice League movie, the wait won't be as long to see Batman and Superman on the big screen together. No, we're not going to see Batman vs. Superman anytime soon, but instead, the two comic heroes will appear in Lego: The Piece of Resistance, the film adaptation from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and 21 Jump Street directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller based on the classic LEGO brick. In addition, Variety reports that Will Arnett will voice Batman (a brilliant choice), and the studio wants Channing Tatum for Superman. More below!
Tatum has a pretty busy schedule, but the studio is trying to make it work. But that's not all! In addition, Chris Pratt of "Parks and Recreation" and Moneyball, is et to voice the film's lead character, Emmet, an ordinary, law-abiding, Lego mini-figure who is mistaken for the most extraordinary MasterBuilder. He's drafted into a fellowship of strangers on a quest to stop an evil tyrant from gluing the universe together. It's not clear how Batman and Superman will fit into the equation, but I wouldn't be surprised if more iconic figures of comics and pop culture showed up in their LEGO form from the various playsets and video games out there. Frankly, I can't wait to see what kind of LEGO world these guys have crafted for the big screen.
