Director J.J. Abrams had a little bit of fun on "Conan" not too long ago when he debuted some exclusive footage from Star Trek Into Darkness. Much to the chagrin of fans everywhere, Abrams did indeed show new footage in the form of three frames featuring Spock in a volcano. Thankfully, we can look forward to tons more footage in the form of a 9-minute prologue and a theatrical trailer with certain screenings of The Hobbit in IMAX and conventional theaters respectively. However, a new "exclusive clip" from the sequel hit "Conan" again last night with Zachary Quinto as the guest, but don't get excited just yet. Watch below!
Here's the Star Trek Into Darkness spoof clip that Zachary Quinto took part in on "Conan" last night:
However, that's not all we have for you. For all the fans who can't wait another week for the trailer to arrive with The Hobbit next week, franchise star Simon Pegg, who plays Scotty, just tweeted, "Star Trek Into Darkness trailer. Premieres online, this Thursday. Get ready to boldly go again." It seems a little premature, but wouldn't a star like Pegg be in the know? Honestly, I would have expected the trailer to show up next Thursday since that's when midnight shows of The Hobbit would begin, but the poster hit yesterday so maybe Paramount and Bad Robot want to get spread the word out about the prologue even more. Excited?
UPDATE: Trek Movie says the trailer coming on Thursday is a one-minute, online exclusive trailer (see here) and it's not the same as a longer, full length trailer that will play in front of The Hobbit next week.
