X-Men: Apocalypse

After Bryan Singer revealed on Twitter that the next film in the X-Men franchise following X-Men: Days of Future Past would be X-Men: Apocalypse, he divulged some more news about the already developing sequel. Last night, Singer uploaded a picture to Twitter saying, "Late night X-Men Apocalypse story session." The photo showed Singer with writer Simon Kinberg (shepherding Fox's comic book universe with X-Men and Fantastic Four) and ComingSoon noticed  Mike Dougherty and Dan Harris were the other two writers in the room. You may not know them by name, but you know their work on X2: X-Men United.

Here's the photo Bryan Singer uploaded to Twitter (via ComingSoon):

X-Men: Apocalypse writing sessions

Aside from that tidbit, we don't really know what to expect from the X-Men sequel. However, our recent spoiler scoop about the credits bumper in X-Men: Days of Future Past does give us a glimpse of what we can expect from the iconic comic book villain named in the title. In addition, it's also been said that this new sequel will likely follow only the X-Men: First Class cast, so we might not see original franchise members like Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen or Patrick Stewart show up (the latter two were clueless about the project when asked about it recently). Still, it sounds like this is all coming together quickly. so stay tuned. Otherwise, X-Men: Days of Future Past arrives in theaters on May 23rd, 2014.

    Sadly...underwhelming and unimpressive.

I would think there is a chance Hugh Jackman might be in, he does crossover between the two casts and brings a following.

I'm not fan of singer's works. Even usual suspect was not anything unless incredible plot and fantastic spacey. I think something miss in his movies , something big and unforgivable : PASSION

I'll be the hopeful one here. I thought X2 was enjoyable, and have great expectations for this film.

i am sorry but Bryan Singer should not be involved in any X Men movies

I'm sorry, but I believe you meant to say Brett Ratner, not Bryan Singer. That, or you forgot to take your crazy pills today.

Wow, I'm genuinely shocked by the lack of excitement in the comments. I thought X2: X-Men United was a fantastic film, by far the best in the X-series yet. The news that this writing crew is helming this movie is absolutely great by my books. I'm looking forward to both Days of Future Past and Apocalypse.

Why can't people who direct the animated Marvel movies get a shot at big picture.. more suited for true vision and translation... Singer sucks.. hollywood execs like him... hollywood sucks!
