Bryce Dallas Howard in Talks to Join Colin Trevorrow's 'Jurassic World'
Following the recent revelation that the newest sequel in the Jurassic Park franchise would be called Jurassic World, hitting theaters on June 12th, 2015, we now have our first cast member. Following rumors (which we decided to hold off on), Terminator Salvation, Spider-Man 3 and The Help star Bryce Dallas Howard is now in early talks for a lead role in the sequel (after taking a break from acting to start a family) from Safety Not Guaranteed director Colin Trevorrow. However, since no official plot details have been revealed yet, we're not sure what kind of character she'll be playing if a deal is finalized. More below!
Howard hasn't starred in a film since 50/50 and The Help in 2011 (arguably the best films in her career), and now she's ready to get back on the big screen again. This is quite the big returning role, but Howard hasn't fared too well with her choices in blockbuster films. Her films with M. Night Shyamalan were largely panned, she was part of the worst Spider-Man in Sam Raimi's film trilogy, and Terminator Salvation wasn't a home run. Yes, The Twilight Saga was successful, but it's The Twilight Saga. Here's hoping this sequel packs a punch and isn't just a lame cash grab for Universal Pictures.
