Casey Affleck Joins the Ensemble Crew of Nolan's Sci-Fi 'Interstellar'
Briefly: Another name added to the ensemble cast of Chris Nolan's upcoming sci-fi movie Interstellar, currently gearing up to start shooting this fall. Hidden deep down in an interview with ELLE magazine (via Nolan Fans), actor Casey Affleck reveals: "I'm going to work on a Chris Nolan movie in the fall." As we already know, Nolan's cast for his 9th movie Interstellar (so far) includes: Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Michael Caine. We can now add Affleck to that growing list, too. The script was originally written by Jonathan Nolan for Steven Spielberg, but is being revised by Chris and will "depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the farthest borders of our scientific understanding." I love who he's choosing.
For anyone unfamiliar with Casey Affleck, the talented 37-year-old Oscar-nominated actor is the younger brother of Ben Affleck. He's appeared in quite a few prominent films over the last 5 to 10 years, but his more notable performances include (his brother's film) Gone Baby Gone, which is one of my all-time favorites, plus The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Soderbergh's Ocean's trilogy, The Killer Inside Me, Tower Heist and this year's indie breakout Ain't Them Bodies Saints (watch the trailer). Earlier in his career, he appeared in films like Gus Van Sant's Good Will Hunting, Gerry and Zach Braff's The Last Kiss. He also stars in this year's Out of the Furnace as Christian Bale's brother. We'll keep an eye on things.
