Christopher Meloni Keeps Delivering Law & Order in 'Sin City' Sequel
by Ben Pearson
January 8, 2013
Best known for his work on the long-running procedural "Law & Order: SVU," actor Christopher Meloni will be donning a uniform once again. Deadline reports that he's snagged a role as a cop in Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, a movie that's gotten a lot of ink in the past 24 hours because Hollywood's golden boy Joseph Gordon-Levitt chose a lead in that film last night over parts in Godzilla and Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. But nothing is what it seems in Sin City, so we'll have to wait and see what side of the law Meloni's character is really on when the movie comes out.
Those who never got into "Law & Order" might recognize Meloni from his comedic performances in Wet Hot American Summer and as the hideously deformed "Freakshow" character from Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle. Those were memorable performances, and considering the dark humor peppered throughout the first Sin City, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Rodriguez and Miller put some of that comedic talent to use in this sequel. Meloni joins the previously-cast Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Dennis Haysbert, and Jamie Chung (taking over for Devon Aoki), and production has been underway for a little while already. But with Rodriguez's quick and efficient shooting style, it shouldn't be a problem to hit their October 4th, 2013 release date. Excited?
