Cillian Murphy Reuniting with Wally Pfister for 'Transcendence' Sci-Fi
Following the addition of The Dark Knight trilogy star Morgan Freeman, cinematographer Wally Pfister has landed another Batman alum to join his sci-fi film Transcendence. Latino Review has learned that Cillian Murphy has landed one of three lead male roles in the film alongside Johnny Depp, Kate Mara, Rebecca Hall and Paul Bettany. At this time it's not clear just what kind of character Murphy will be playing, but his involvement with the project isn't surprising after starring in all three of Christopher Nolan's Batman films, not to mention Inception, all films that had Pfister as the director of photography. Read on!
Though the official plot synopsis has been kept under wraps, details emerged a few months ago have said the film will follow three scientists - Max (Bettany), and the husband and wife team of Will and Evelyn (Depp and Hall) - as they develop a programming code for the first self-aware computer. But when a group of anti-technology terrorists try to assassinate the husband, his wife helps upload his brain into a prototype supercomputer. But that may not stop them. Everytime Murphy showed up in the Batman series after Batman Begins it was a nice treat, and his presence in this film is icing on an already promising cake.
