Craig Robinson Gets His Own 'Meet the Parents' in Trailer for 'Peeples'

Despite the fact that Tyler Perry hasn't made a single film that has sparked any remote interest on my end, giving Craig Robinson the lead in a romantic comedy isn't a bad idea. Unfortunately, the first trailer for Peeples doesn't really deliver the goods. While the interaction between David Alan Grier and Robinson has potential, this just looks like every romantic comedy about a significant other meeting their other half's parents we've seen. It's basically Meet the Parents all over again, but presented by Tyler Perry. There's definitely an audience that will enjoy it, and families will give it a shot, but it's not looking good. Watch?

Instead, in a wild weekend of fun, dysfunction and hilarious surprises, Wade is about to discover there's room for all kinds of Peeples in this family, no matter their differences.
