Drafthouse Films to Re-Release Abel Ferrara's Remastered 'Ms. 45'
Nowadays, it's films like The Wizard of Oz, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars and Jurassic Park that get re-released to theaters. And while those kind of returns are fun for everyone, there are plenty of other films that deserve to be seen on the big screen in all their glory. Thankfully, Drafthouse Films is giving a classic film that audiences might not expect the change to shine on the big screen again. Thompson on Hollywood is reporting Drafthouse Films will re-release a remastered version of Abel Ferrara's 1981 film Ms. 45 to theaters in the United States in December, before an uncut version of the film finally hits Blu-Ray and DVD.

For those who don't know, the film follows a mute garment seamstress (Zoe Lund) who starts a homicidal rampage against the men in New York City after she's fallen victim to one too many assaults. It's a feminist revenge thriller, which doesn't come around very often, and Ferrara has said, "it shook people up to see an innocent person like themselves suddenly becoming a wanton murderer.” It has all the violence of Death Wish, but with a surreal style that only the director of Bad Lieutenant and King of New York can deliver. It's awesome Drafthouse Films is re-releasing films like this. We'll do our best to keep you posted on the release.
