Dwayne Johnson Suspects Liam Hemsworth in 'Empire State' Trailer
Every now and then a film with a promising cast just doesn't hit the mark and is relegate to straight-to-DVD hell. Such is the case with Empire State, which unfortunately looks like a dull thriller, and maybe a low point for the stellar year Dwayne Johnson is having in 2013. In the film from Dito Montiel (A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints), an armored truck security guard (Liam Hemsowrth) is suspected of assisting in a robbery of one of their vehicles. In reality, his troublemaking friends (led by Michael Angarano) are behind the heist, and an NYPD detective (Johnson) is on their trail. We wish this was more exciting. Watch?
Here's the first trailer for Dito Montiel's Empire State, from Grindstone Entertainment:
Empire State is directed by Dito Montiel (A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints) and written by Adam Mazer (Breach, You Don't Know Jack). After failing to get into the police academy, Chris Potamitis (Liam Hemsworth), settles for a security guard job with the Empire State Armored Truck Company. Chris makes the mistake of mentioning the company’s lax security to his best friend, Eddie (Michael Angarano), and is soon unwittingly drawn into an elaborate robbery. But a veteran NYPD Detective is in close pursuit and won't be thwarted. Grindstone Entertainment releases the film on Blu-Ray and DVD on September 3rd.
