Dwayne Johnson to Lead Brad Peyton's 'San Andreas' Earthquake Flick
After making the colorful 3D family action adventure Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, director Brad Peyton will reteam with franchise lifesaver Dwayne Johnson again. Heat Vision reports Johnson will star in San Andreas, the earthquake action thriller which has been developing at New Line for a few years now. Allan Loeb (Wall Street 2) was hired to polish the original script by Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy Passmore last year, but Chad and Carey Hayes (The Conjuring, The Reaping) wrote the most recent draft. The trade says producers are trying to "out-Roland Emmerich Roland Emmerich." We'll see if Johnson can make this flick work as well as the franchises he's injected new life into like with G.I. Joe: Retaliation and Fast Five, or other enjoyable turns in Pain & Gain. Johnson is also supposed to reteam with Peyton for Journey 3 along with Josh Hutcherston, so the two have a lot of work ahead of them.
