Getaway

Lately it seems that Ethan Hawke has found success with lower key horror films like The Purge and Sinister, and now he's taking his talents to action. Getaway follows Hawke as a former race car driver working against the clock to get his kidnapped wife back. It's a pretty generic plot, but the high speed action might offer some kind of fun. Selena Gomez continues to stray away from her Disney image following Spring Breakers, but this doesn't necessarily look like anything impressive. Coming from the director of the sloppy adaptation of Dungeons & Dragons from the year 2000, we weren't expecting much anyway. Watch!

Here's the first trailer for Courtney Solomon's Getaway, direct from Warner Bros:

Getaway is directed by Courtney Solomon (An American Haunting, Dungeons & Dragons) and written by Sean Finegan and Gregg Maxwell Parker, making their feature writing debut. The story follows former race car driver Brent Magna (Ethan Hawke) as he desperately tries to save the life of his kidnapped wife by commandeering a custom Shelby Cobra Mustang, taking it and its unwitting owner (Selena Gomez) on a high-speed race against time, at the command of the mysterious villain holding his wife hostage. Warner Bros. and Dark Castle Entertainment release the film in theaters late this summer on August 30th. Well?

Gomez should stick to "singing". WTH is Hawke doing? Remember when he was on track to become a legit A-lister? Did he charged with tax evasion of something? This looks bad.

Agreed, Gomez can be forgiven for youthful indiscretion and having some fun early in her career, but what on Earth is Ethan doing in this? He's always had a reputation for being intelligent and independent, picking projects because they were promising or looked fun and not for a quick paycheck. Either he read a script that was wayyy better than this trailer, or something's amiss with Ethan Hawke.

Is this trailer and its description trying to suggest that we don't know that John Voight is the 'mysterious' villain? Duh...

Repeating nonsense and insults will not get Brian Cox in the cast. Check the cast at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2167202/fullcredits?ref_=tt_cl_sm#cast Brian Cox is not a cast member. John Voight is. Now show me your evidence. Nitwit.

You checked the cast at IMDB by now? John Voight IS a castmember of this movie. Brian Cox is NOT a castmember of this movie. Anyone else: who is the guy in the trailer: John Voight or Brian Cox? Your votes please.
