I, Frankenstein

Following The Dark Knight, it's been a little difficult for Aaron Eckhart to find another hit film, but he's hoping for some blockbuster love when I, Frankenstein hits theaters. However, the film is stuck in the worst release month of January early next year, so there's not much hope. But still the first trailer is here and it shows off some action akin to Priest or Legion, with a mix of contemporary futuristic settings and medieval fantasy. It doesn't look all that great, but at least Yvonne Strahovski is there, and she's pretty easy on the eyes. This might be a nice distraction to round out the first month of 2014, but that's it. Watch?

Here's the first trailer for Stuart Beattie's I, Frankenstein, from Machinima:

Set in a dystopic present where vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demons rage in a battle for ultimate power, Victor Frankenstein's creation Adam (Aaron Eckhart) finds himself caught in the middle as both sides race to discover the secret to his immortality. Written for the screen and directed by Stuart Beattie (writer of G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra), I, Frankenstein is based on the graphic novel by Kevin Grievous, and also stars Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, Jai Courtney, Socratis Otto, Mahesh Jadu, Caitlin Stasey and Aden Young. Lionsgate is bringing the film to theaters in 3D everywhere on January 24th, 2014. Sound good?

Wow, it actually doesn't look horrible.

It looks like a tribute to the three greatest CGI extravaganzas of ALL-TIME:MAX PAYNE, LEGION & PRIEST, and a close runner-up, Constantine. Blahblahblah. Hollywood has pooped another CGI winner!

Someone just discovered irony. How fun!
  • Such heroic nonsense
Damn, that looks hard! Cant be bad considering it has A-A-Ron Eckhardt (key and peele reference) and the producers of Underworld.

Feels like a direct to DvD movie to me. Also the name, Frankenstein was the doctor who made the monster, not the monster. SO why is the movie named for the guy who would have died 200 some old years in the past? Oh so people would think "Oh cool Frankenstein I wana see that".
    • rudiecantfail11
its called I,Frankenstein because its based on a comic of the same name, at least they didn't call the monster Frankenstein which is a plus
      • Brian Sleider
Oh Ok right on, that makes this seem less silly, knowing its from a comic.
  • RobotProphet
That's it! They have to make a Live action Gargoyles movie now!

      thought the same thing :)

"but at least Yvonne Strahovski is there, and he's pretty easy on the eyes" I know it's a spelling error, but if not then Chuck and Dexter are in for a surprise. 😀
  • Xerxexx
    might see it...

Where's Paul Bettany? Definitely expected to see him in this trailer...
  • Hodedly ho, looks funny.

Another Underworld movie? jesus. And Bill Nighy playing the same lame role as usual. #mileycyrustwerk

i'll see it, probably not in theaters, it would of been a hell of a lot cooler had they made dean koontz frankenstein instead
    • nomad82
absolutely!!!! Dean Koontz version would have been quite refreshing...

I'm getting too old for these movies. That looks like a complete headache.

Wish I wasn't, but I'm with you. Great makeup work though.

It was hard, but I eventually masturbated to this... Oh, wait -- wrong trailer.

I love Eckhart. I don't know if I will watch this in theatres (would have to be a little bored and desperate). But I will definately watch this eventually on DVD. Reminds me of VanHelsing which I saw in theatres. I will just take it for what it action movie and predictable story line, but regardless there looks like to be some cool action scenes. Gotta love me some action!!
  • OfficialJab
"From the producers of Underworld". I think that was apparent without the credit.
  • 97point6
Is Bill Nighy chained in some CGI basement, forced to spend the rest of his life cranking crap?
  • borninatrailer
January opening? But it'll get totally shafted when it comes to Oscar nods.
