First 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug' Trailer Hits Next Week

June 6, 2013

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Briefly: It has been confirmed via multiple sources the first full trailer for Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, the second movie in his Hobbit trilogy, will be playing before Man of Steel in theaters next week (on June 14th). In addition, confirmed that the 2-and-a-1/2-minute trailer will arrive online Wednesday, June 12th, at 10AM / 1PM EDT. So it looks like next week will be the return of The Hobbit mania, as we start to move into the second half of 2013. Desolation of Smaug picks up where An Unexpected Journey left off with Bilbo (Martin Freeman) on the trail with Thorin (Richard Armitage). We expect to finally see the battle with the dragon Smaug before There & Back Again in 2014.

Update: The very first trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug can now be seen in full online here.
