Later this year audiences will see "Game of Thrones" star Natalie Dormer in the real-life racing drama Rush with Chris Hemsworth, but she'll return to the realm of fantasy soon enough. Lionsgate just announced through their Twitter feed that the actress will play Cressida in both parts of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, the conclusion to the trilogy from author Suzanne Collins. If you're not a fan of the aforementioned HBO series, you should fix that. But otherwise, you might recognize Dormer from stealing a kiss from Steve Rogers in Captain America: The First Avenger, which pissed off Peggy Carter. More below!
Cressida is a resident director from The Capitol who joins the growing rebellion against the upper class citizens who keep the 12 Districts at bay with The Hunger Games for their own entertainment. Without spoiling anything, she's an integral part of the revolution and helping Katniss lead the oppressed people in a fight against The Capitol. In the books, Cressida is described as a young woman whose head is shaved bald and tattooed with vivid green vines. We're not sure of Dormer will be shaving her head or throwing on a bald cap, but the character's image could easily be changed for the film. Dormer will also be seen in The Counselor from Ridley Scott this fall so she's certainly on the rise. Stay tuned.
