Huey Lewis & Weird Al Yankovic Get Strange in 'American Psycho' Bit
Though many audiences are mostly familiar with Christian Bale for his turn as Bruce Wayne and Batman, one of his finer performances from the middle of his career is American Psycho. The cult classic, an adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' book of the same name, is a wholly strange film, featuring an eccentric bank executive and his secret, murderous ways. And for some reason, musician and occasional actor Huey Lewis and Weird Al Yankovic have gotten together to pay homage to the film in a recreation of one of the more iconic scenes where Bale buries an axe into the head of Jared Leto. It's actually pretty perfect. Watch below!
Here's American Psycho with Huey Lewis and Weird Al Yankovic from Funny or Die:
Apparently this is just some sort of weird, viral promotion for both the 30th anniversary of Huey Lewis' Sports album and Weird Al's old parody song I Want A New Duck off of his album "Dare to Be Stupid". Lewis nails Bale's signature cadence and exaggerated tone in the scene, and even has his mannerisms and movements down pat. Plus, there's that amazing moment where he makes the exact same motion that Bale does when American Psycho is on the television. I feel like we need to get Huey Lewis to do a comedy now, or at least make more parodies and scene recreations of famous movies like this with Weird Al Yankovic.
