Though the dramatic biopic Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, some technical difficulties shut the film down 45 minutes into the first and only press screening last weekend. Sadly, the rescheduled late night screening didn't get too many people following up to see the lengthy drama, so the buzz isn't too strong, but this new international trailer for the film certainly paints an awards worthy portrait for the performance from Idris Elba as Nelson Mandela. Skyfall star Naomie Harris plays his wife Winnie, and we hope this offers more than a traditional biopic.

Idris Elba leads the film which chronicles Nelson Mandela's life journey from his childhood in a rural village through to his inauguration as the first democratically elected president of South Africa. Naomie Harris (Skyfall) co-stars as Mandela's wife Winnie with a supporting cast that also includes Tony Kgoroge, Riaad Moosa, Zolani Mkiva, Deon Lotz and Terry Pheto. The Weinstein Company will give the film a limited release starting November 29th. Awards contender?
