Extra! Extra! 2013 Oscar nominations announced, who got the most? Who is going to win? How long are all of the contenders? These, and many more Oscar-related questions, are answered/addressed in this fun new Oscar infographic posted this morning by Empire. Following up the 85th Academy Awards nominations revealed yesterday morning, they breakdown the top films (Spielberg's Lincoln has the most noms with 12), running times, actress ages (because this is an important year for Lead Actress!) and even themes and budgets. It's not the most insightful, but it is interesting data to see as the 2013 awards season rambles on.
2013 Oscar Nominations infographic was created by Empire. Click to see full-size. For all this year's Oscar nominees. Some of the more fascinating data: Silver Linings Playbook is the only film nominated in all of the "Big Five" categories; the budgets of all of the films are dwarfed by Life of Pi (which starred mostly one young Indian actor on a lifeboat); and Beasts of the Southern Wild is the only Best Picture nominee that runs less than two hours. After all the discussion and complaints that have arisen regarding snubs and The Academy, this is an interesting breakdown of the top films that did make the cut this year. Your thoughts?
