James Franco Busts Knee Caps in New Red Band 'Homefront' Trailer

Though it doesn't really seem like James Franco would be much of an adversary for Jason Statham, the thriller Homefront has pitted them against each other. Franco is a southern drug dealer who doesn't like an undercover cop trying to start a new life on his turf, and in this new red band trailer, he shows that he means business by busting the knee caps of some new meth dealers who are invading his territory. Then we get into normal trailer territory with some kick-ass action and some profanity thrown around for good measure. We're still not sure if this will be good, but maybe Franco and Statham will make it fun. Watch!

Here's the new red band trailer for Gary Fleder's Homefront from IGN:

Homefront is directed by Gary Fleder (Runaway Jury, Don't Say a Word) and written by veteran action star, director and producer Sylvester Stallone. Jason Statham plays a former Drug Enforcement Administration agent Phil Broker who is trying to leave his violent life behind him. He moves with his daughter to small-town Louisiana, where he butts heads with a crime faction including a former biker chick (Winona Ryder) and the local crime leader, Gator (James Franco). Kate Bosworth and Frank Grillo also star in the film which Open Road Films will send to movie theaters this fall on November 27th. Interested?

I normally don't like Statham, but this actually looks good.

Yup - interesting role for Franco, and the usual well-shot, clean techniques for Statham :-)
