Jason Statham

Production on The Expendables 3 began last month in Bulgaria with director Patrick Hughes at the helm. We've seen a photo from the set with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Harrison Ford and the paparazzi has landed some shots of the rest of the cast, but we won't post them here. What we will post, however, is a story from cast member Terry Crews who talks about a supposed near-death experience. However, as he tells the story, it's clear that it's really Jason Statham who actually almost died while filming the sequel. Basically some faulty brakes on a truck resulted in Statham driving straight into the Black Sea. Watch now!

Here's the interview from "The Tonight Show" with Terry Crews telling the story via Movies.com:

The Expendables 3 is directed by Patrick Hughes (Red Hill) and written by Sylvester Stallone and Olympus Has Fallen scribes Creighton Rothenberger & Katrin Benedikt. Barney (Sylvester Stallone), Christmas (Jason Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill...or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables, but Barney has other plans with a new era of Expendables team members, younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The film arrives on August 15th, 2014.

And yet these movies and actors get no respect.

I think people with more dangerous jobs get paid dramatically less, yeah. They deserve a lot of respect, lose a little when they throw fits about not getting paid enough, see: Avengers 2

Or Bruce with EX 3? Yes, I agree.

I agree to a point, but when you put all of this machismo and star power in one movie, they have to take a pay cut. I think it's more about legacy than money sometimes. For instance, the Bruce deal. He had to take a pay cut....they all did. If they agreed to Bruce's wage, everyone else would have to get what they wanted and that would be a fiasco. To be in the same movie with just Statham would be awesome and a dream come true for most of us. However...Lundgren, Stallone, Arnold, Norris, Crews...etc., a legacy. Yippy Kay Yay Bruce, you won't be missed. I hope they bring in Demi and let Stallone have an XX rated way with her, just to prove you messed up.

Terry Crews is the man, but we all know that Statham is a bad-ass :-)

Terry Crews just looks tough, I saw him in a survival show where he couldn't kick in a door, couldn't swing an ax, and almost drowned during an exercise.

To insinuate that Jason Statham could not survive a truck (from whatever height,) crashing into water seems ludicrous.

Statham die? That's like saying if Chuck Norris stopped doing round house kicks, the world could keep rotating around the sun.
