Jeff Daniels Confirms a Fall Shoot for Farrelly's 'Dumb & Dumber To'
Though there was a brief moment of disappointment after New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. decided to pass on Dumb & Dumber To, the sequel to the 1994 comedy Dumb & Dumber starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, relief came when Universal Pictures and Red Granite Pictures picked up the fallen pieces. When the news broke, there were rumblings the production might begin in early fall with an eye towards releasing the film in 2014, just in time for the 20th anniversary of the original comedy. Now Daniels has confirmed that plan, and he even dished some small details on the sequel having read the script. Read on!
In an interview on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," where Daniels was promoting the second season premiere of Aaron Sorkin's HBO series "The Newsroom" this weekend, the actor was thankfully asked about the sequel, and he was glad to reveal some brief details. Daniels says, "I’ve seen the script. It’s hysterical. We’re middle-aged, we’re not pretending we aren’t. We’re middle-aged and we’re still that stupid.” Sounds about like what we would expect from the sequel. Hopefully it'll be interesting to see what these two dimwits are up to 20 years later, but we just hope Bobby & Peter Farelly can get some of their comedy magic from their glory days back in front of the camera since they've been bombing for years now. Thoughts?
