Back in February, we featured the comedic stylings Keegan Michael-Key and Jordan Peele by way of a sketch from their Comedy Central series "Key & Peele." The comedic duo is currently in their third season, and they show no signs of slowing down. Key & Peele are always skewering pop culture, including faux HBO documentary segments like Vincent Clortho's Wizarding School and an intense, energetic sketch featuring two valet parking attendants getting more than a little excited about the career of "Liam Neesons." Now Deadline reports they're getting in the feature film game with Universal and the studio's comedy cash cow.
Here's one of their more recent sketches taking aim at Les Miserables:
Key & Peele will be writing a comedy feature film with Judd Apatow, and the filmmaker will also produce through his Apatow Productions banner. The director isn't revealing any plot details but he says, "I love these guys because they are riotously, make you sick because you can’t stop laughing, funny. I think Key and Peele are capable of making the movie that America desperately needs right now.” Honestly, Key & Peele might be the two funniest guys on Comedy Central right now besides Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. We'll definitely be keeping an eye on what this trio comes up with for Universal. Sound good?
