This year Michelle Williams battled evil in Oz: The Great and Powerful, and Joel Edgerton got pretty glitzy in The Great Gatsby, but now the two are entering thriller territory. Deadline reports Williams and Edgerton are set to star in The Double Hour, a remake of a 2009 Italian film with the same title from writer and director Joshua Marston (Maria Full of Grace). But when the two take a romantic getaway, the two lovers who suddenly become the victims in a dangerous and extremely well-planned robbery. Read on!
The project is currently on sale at Cannes for distribution with Silver Reel Entertainment and Lotus Entertainment financing the project. The Italian film from director Giuseppe Capotondi has been praised by critics around the world, and it even won some awards at the 2009 Venice Film Festival. Since this is a Cannes sale, it's hard to tell if the film will really come together, or if Williams and Edgerton will even stay attached. Many times, talent gets added to a film just to spark interest, and then certain names fall away and the project goes in a completely different direction. We'll keep our eye on this one though.
