Mike Myers, Dana Carvey & 'Wayne's World' Director Will Reunite
Schwing! While rumors of a Wayne's World 3 were grossly exaggerated last fall, Mike Myers and Dana Carvey will be having a totally amazing, excellent Wayne's World reunion with director Penelope Spheeris and "Saturday Night Live" mastermind and the film's producer, Lorne Michaels, for a panel discussion from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. THR reports Academy president, Hawk Koch, who just happens to be an executive producer of the film, will introduce the event which taking place on Tuesday, April 23rd at the Samuel Golden Theater in Beverly Hills. And the good news is you can go!
The event includes a screening of the film along with the panel and it's open to the general public. Tickets can be purchased starting April 1st in person at the Academy box office, by mail or online at Oscars.org. This is one of those times where I'm infinitely jealous of anyone living in Los Angeles who gets to attend this event. Wayne's World was a big part of my childhood, and to see Myers and Carvey together after a screening, especially with Lorne Michaels present, would just be unfathomable. We might be able to have coverage of this event, and if we're lucky, maybe they'll announce a real effort for Wayne's World 3.
