The Kings of Summer

The first trailer for Jordan Vogt-Roberts' hit indie comedy Kings of Summer brought some laughs, but we pointed out that it wasn't necessarily indicative of the film as a whole. This film has edge, heart, and a unique take on the familiar coming-of-age story and that's why it took Sundance by storm earlier this year. Now a new red band trailer is available online (with a quote from our very own Alex Billington featured prominently), and this one was cut by the director himself, so the film is portrayed exactly as he wants it to be. Led by Nick Robinson, Gabriel Russo and Moises Arias, with great supporting turns by Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally, this is one indie you will not want to miss this summer. Watch below!

Here's the new red band trailer for Jordon Vogt-Roberts' The Kings of Summer from Funny or Die:

Toy's House is about three teens who decide to ditch their parents and build a house to live in on their own in the nearby forest. Nick Robinson, Gabriel Basso and Moises Arias star, with Nick Offerman and Alison Brie. In my review, I called it "a refreshing contemporary coming-of-age drama thanks to director Jordan Vogt-Roberts. It's the perfect film for the YouTube generation, and I mean that in a good way." The comedy is hilarious, the characters are heartfelt, my hope is it goes on to become a hit after Sundance. CBS Films acquired Toy's House at the festival in January, retitled it to The Kings of Summer, and has scheduled it for a summer release in limited theaters starting on May 31st. We hope you are planning to see this one!
