85th Academy Awards

In only four more days the 85th Academy Awards will be taking place in Hollywood. It's almost time to see them make history once again and learn who will take home Best Picture this year. As we wait to find out what happens this Sunday, there's a video spreading fast around the web that is a must watch for any and all cinephiles, movie fans and those who grew up watching the Academy Awards every year. It's a "supercut" video retrospective, featuring footage of all 84 (soon to be 85) of the Best Picture Oscar Winners cut into a four-minute montage, set to "November" by Max Richter. A superb reminder of the beauty of cinema.

Thanks to RopeofSilicon and Awards Daily for featuring this video. You can find lists of all 85 films in their posts. This "Best Picture Oscar Winners" video was created and edited by filmmaker Nelson Carvajal. Posted on his Vimeo: "Retrospective in anticipation of the 85th Academy Awards." I love that he chose some of the more intimate and unique scenes from the various Best Picture winners, instead of the more obvious scenes that everyone is familiar with. Maybe I'm in love with film right now and excited for the Academy Awards this weekend, but this is such a wonderful retrospective and the perfect reminder why I love movies.

Despite what some might say, that really is a very impressive set of films to be named best picture.

its incredible to see the evolution of cinema and how powerful the art of storytelling has had on a better understanding of this thing we call life. Heres to another 85 years of magic!

It's all nice and that...but Oscars' don't matter anymore, the winners of the last few years were soooo off...
