One Final Gory Red Band Trailer for 'Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters'

January 4, 2013

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters

"We'd do this shit for free." Though it doesn't really shake a stick at the horrifying and bloody new trailer for the remake of Evil Dead that arrived last night, one more final red band trailer for the horror action film Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters has arrived. Honestly, I still think this looks like it could be fun to watch and laugh at, but by no means does it resemble anything close to a great movie. This will likely be this year's Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter for many, but the fact that this film doesn't seem to be taking itself seriously might lessen the blow. Where's the Jeremy Renner we loved in The Hurt Locker in 2009?

New red band trailer for Tommy Wirkola's Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters from Paramount:

Fifteen years after their traumatic gingerbread-house incident, siblings Hansel and Gretel (Renner and Arterton) have become a formidable team of bounty hunters who track and kill witches all over the world.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters is directed by Norwegian filmmaker Tommy Wirkola (of Kill Buljo: The Movie, Dead Snow) who also wrote the script with Dante Harper. Famke Janssen, Peter Stormare and Zoe Bell also star in the film being produced by Adam McKay & Will Ferrell through their Gary Zanchez banner. Paramount releases Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters in theaters on January 25th this year. Thoughts?

        yep! would have been enough
  • That last bit is how the ewoks should have dealt with the stormtroopers. I'm pretty into this, of course it's not going to win an oscar but it looks fun at least.

    yes YES...

Gemma Arterton is a terrible "actress". Jeremy Renner has done better. And this movie looks like pure shit.
  • This is my 10 year old stepson's most anticipated film of all time.

I enjoyed Dead Snow, but this is a concept that could only be good in the hands of Edgar Wright...may be entertaining if the studios keep the R, if not, this movie will probably land a couple Razzies and make some 'worst of' lists for 2013. Shame, Renner was so good in The Hurt Locker, I even liked him in SWAT. Work while you can I guess?

I want this to be good, but what is with all the slow motion death scenes. I keep getting Clash of the Titans flashbacks.

I would seriously rather do something else or watch something else than waste my time. like good lord this looks trashy. not even funny.
