'Paranormal Activity' Spin-Off Gets Delayed for 'Jackass: Bad Grandpa'
Over a year ago, some domain name registration hinted that MTV and Paramount Pictures might be working on another Jackass film. But this one wasn't just another sequel, as it referenced the Bad Grandpa character that Johnny Knoxville brought to life in the screwball, slapstick film and TV series. Now THR reports the studio and network have announced Jackass: Bad Grandpa, and production is done. Fans will be pleased to hear they won't have to wait long for the film to hit theaters since Paramount is pushing back their Halloween release of the Hispanic-centric Paranormal Activity spin-off to January 2014.
Jackass: Bad Grandpa will hit theaters on October 25th, 2013, following Knoxville's old man Irving Zisman and his inappropriate behavior. However, we're still not sure if the film is a feature length collection of old man themed pranks, or if there's some sort of narrative here. As for the Paranormal Activity spin-off that was teased at the end of Paranormal Activity 4, we're not sure if Paramount doesn't think it's strong enough for Halloween or not with this new January 3rd, 2014. The studio says they want January to land the success that The Devil Inside found in the same month. But January isn't for good movies. Stay tuned.
