Robert Pattinson to Photograph Dane DeHaan as James Dean in 'Life'
This past May, we learned that music video director turned filmmaker Anton Corbijn (The American) was attached to helm Life, a film written by Luke Davies (Candy) which chronicles the interesting relationship that formed between photographer Dennis Stock when he met then-undiscovered star James Dean at a party and saw something special in him. Now two handsome young stars have been picked to take the two leads as ScreenDaily has news out of Toronto that Robert Pattinson will play Stock and Chronicle and Kill Your Darlings star Dane DeHaan will play the iconic, short-lived big screen star James Dean. Read on!
Stock is the focus of the story as he feels guilty as an estranged parent to his son. But after meeting Dean in 1955 before the premiere of East of Eden, Stock slowly comes out of his funk after spending time with the kid in Los Angeles, New York, and Indiana, having been commissioned by Life Magazine to photograph the future star. Those photos would eventually gain a lot more attention and turn Stock into a big name in the photography world. Their relationship at the center of this story sounds like it could be something akin to My Week with Marilyn, and with Pattinson and DeHaan bringing these characters to life, it sounds like the film should get young and old audiences interested. Sound good?
