The last film Shawn Levy took on was the surprisingly good, and mostly out of character film Real Steel with Hugh Jackman. Later this year he's heading into raunchy comedy with The Internship, marking the reunion of Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, but he's not done with adventurous family fare yet. Fox has just announced that Levy will directed Night at the Museum 3 for release on December 14th, 2014. The first two films saw Ben Stiller getting involved in the nightlife of a couple museums when the exhibits come to life. With scripts from Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon, it's been quite a fun romp. Read on!
However, it's not clear where the third installment will take Ben Stiller. The first film from 2006 took place at New York's Museum of Natural History and then 2009 took him to the Smithsonian in Washington DC and allowed for some cool cameos and supporting roles for Amy Adams, Hank Azaria, Christopher Guest and Bill Hader. Fox just recently announced plans to craft a movie surrounding the Magic Castle in Los Angeles, and I immediately said that would be a great place for a third Night at the Museum film, but McG is directing that project already. Maybe something involving a wax figure museum could be cool since that would allow for massive cameos or Stiller could head overseas to a museum in Europe? Any other ideas?
