After hosting one of the more entertaining broadcasts of the Golden Globes earlier this year, the Hollywood Foreign Press Asssociation has announced "Saturday Night Live" alums Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will return to host the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 12th early next year. But that's not all, because the HFPA has also set the funny ladies to host the show in 2015 as well. Hollywood Foreign Press Association president Theo Kingma said, "We are thrilled Amy and Tina have decided to return as hosts of the Golden Globe Awards for the next two years." They certainly won't be the only ones.
Here's Amy Poehler and Tina Fey's opening monologue from the Golden Globes this year:
And here's video of a quick appearance they both made on the Emmys just last month:
Poehler and Fey are such a dynamic, comedic duo. Their chemistry and comedic timing are unparalleled not just as female comedians, but in the world of comedy in general. Paul Telegdy, President of Alternative and Late Night Programming at NBC reiterates that fact in the press release saying, "Tina and Amy are two of the most talented comedic writer/performers in our business and they were a major reason the Golden Globes was the most entertaining awards show of last season. We're elated they wanted to host together again and that they committed for the next two years." Hopefully the broadcast won't feel so damn long.
