No, you don't get to see Anna Kendrick's boobs, but for fans of her performance dubbed Cups (a unique cover of the song You're Gonna Miss Me by Lulu and the Lampshades) from the film Pitch Perfect, this should still be a treat. Fans have enjoyed Kendrick's voice and spirited performance of the song with a little cup choreography that it was turned into a full fledged song with some instrumentals this time, and now there's a music video to go along with it (though there are no direct ties to the film other than the song itself). But the best part of this story is that Universal has confirmed Pitch Perfect 2 for release in 2015.
Here's the official music video for Anna Kendrick's Cups from Pitch Perfect via The Playlist:
The news comes straight from CinemaCon, where our own Alex Billington is stationed in Las Vegas, and it comes hot on the heels of last weekend's musical reunion on the MTV Movie Awards featuring most of the film's major musical cast members with the exception of Adam DeVine (former leader of the Treblemakers) and Anna Kendrick. Just at the end of last year we had heard that the surprise hit had a sequel in early development at Universal (with Skylar Astin and Rebel Wilson already taking meetings at the studio), but there's still no word on whether writer Kay Cannon or director Jason Moore will be returning for the sequel. We're hoping both will return for more a capella fun, so stay tuned for updates.
