The 2nd Horseman Trailer

"Farewell, Captain - it's too late for you and your kind." What have we come across here? Peruvian sci-fi action? I'm down to check this out. Our friends at Twitch featured a very action-filled trailer for a film called The 2nd Horseman, a Peruvian action movie in Spanish from first-time director Arthur Cross, which involves a crapload of well-armed militia fighting something strange. This "international" trailer features an English voiceover with some rather ominous lines about reaching the "end game" and "why man once feared the wrath of the Gods." While there is only a quick glimpse of the sci-fi side, I am curious to check this out.

Here's the first official trailer for Arthur Cross' The 2nd Horseman, first found via Twitch:

Synopsis from YouTube: Serah, a member of the Sci-Ops team, vanishes deep inside the No-Zone without a trace. A year later she returns bearing a message from a world beyond. Now a team of mercenaries must confront an army of fanatics hell bent on using Serah to usher in the End of Days. Will she become mankind's Savior, or the Harbinger of Doom? The film is directed by newcomer Arthur Cross. For more info on The 2nd Horseman feature project and its various creators, visit 2ndhorseman.com. You can also follow updates on the film and view behind-the-scenes photos on their Facebook page. How does that look?

Agreed. Keep the effects practical, and make the action intense i.e. The Raid and you got a possible cult hit.

You need to increase the standards on what you post. This is like a wannabe freddview video. Do you post freddview videos here too?

Whoa, ouch. It was a quiet week and I've been looking to feature indie up-and-coming sci-fi projects. This came across my desk thanks to Twitch and I thought it looked cool enough to feature. Obviously it's low budget but it doesn't look that bad. Why not mix up all the Hollywood crap with something a bit different every so often...

This probably won't do much, until it gets picked up by Holly wood and remade, a la Let the Right One In/ Let Me In.

I understand your reason to post independent works too. Of course there are plenty of hidden diamonds out there, but this is not one of them. You can find plenty of videos like this one on youtube. Being low budget is not actually a problem, being silly and amateurish is. Sure everybody wants to make short sci-fi films nowadays but that don't make them all a must-see. There is a huge gap between true creativity and vision in independent fllm-making (remember the What's in the box? - 2009's test film) and employing every person one knows so that they can make an action film with cgi blood.

So the Second Horseman is a giant Christmas crystal star, the type that goes on top the x-mas tree, that shoots a generic alien beam?

    The voice over was cool

With the narrator talking it seems like a game.
