Watch: CCTV Viral Videos Show Electro from 'Spider-Man 2' or Sayain?
Well, this is interesting. There are a series of CCTV found footage videos going around that might (or might not) be linked to Marc Webb's sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and its villain Electro. Found on the site ap7am, the videos are from an Indian news station showing what appears to be footage of a "rikshwala" driver being saved from being smashed by a truck by an "alien". Upon closer inspection of the footage, the "alien" is really an electrified man traveling as fast as lightning. After saving the person, he then walks away wearing a black hoodie similar to the one in the set photo above. Is this some eerie, freaky viral for Electro?
So this might not be a viral for Spider-Man 2 after all. The videos were uploaded to YouTube on September 19th, more than a week ago. Since then the comments are filled with people saying it's officially an Amazing Spider-Man 2 viral, confirming that the "alien" is supposed to be Electro. Once you watch these videos, that claim seems to make sense. Comparing this to what was shown at Comic-Con and that photo, it easily could be Electro showing up in the start of a viral with a "lightening" man appearing in videos all over the world. Though new updates seem to indicate this is a actually the character Sayain from Dragon Ball Z, not Electro.
Update: Another post from GeekTyrant links to an explanation behind these videos connecting them to a character named Sayain from Dragon Ball Z. They also link to the original source of the video here. I'm not sure if this is any confirmation either way, but given the details starting to come out behind all of this, it's likely this could be for something else other than a movie. That's all we know for now - it remains a mystery.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is directed by Marc Webb and written by Jeff Pinker, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) finds, life is busy between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can't come quickly enough. Peter hasn't forgotten the promise he made to Gwen's father to protect her by staying away, but that's a promise he just can't keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past. Sony will release Amazing Spider-Man 2 in theaters next summer on May 2nd. See the first look.
