Oscars / Seth MacFarlane

Well, this morning kicked off with all the many nominations for the 85th Annual Academy Awards, and passionate film fans have had plenty to say. We also looked at some of the big surprises and snubs from this year in film, but now it's time to move on and look forward to the big show and see which film will join Best Picture winners like Titanic, Gladiator, Rain Man, Rocky, The Apartment and dozens more. "Family Guy" creator and Ted director and star Seth MacFarlane is serving as master of ceremonies when the telecast happens next month, and in five promos, he explains why he's hosting, who he is, checks Twitter, and more.

Here are the five promos for the 85th Academy Awards hosted by Seth MacFarlane via EW:

Again, the full list of Academy Award nominees can be found right here. Stay tuned for the latest awards news and movie coverage as we wait a little over a month for the live broadcast of Hollywood's biggest night on Sunday, February 24th at 7/6c on ABC with host Seth MacFarlane and the biggest movie stars around.

I think he'll do an excellent job, but I believe the only reason Ted got nominated for anything is because he's hosting.

You're really going to sweat Best Original Song, written and performed by an entirely different artist and done extraordinarily well, on the basis that they're doing it for Seth? Okay...

Django should've gotten that spot IMO, but it will provide for some witty banter throughout the night so I'm looking forward to that.

Nah, that's a great song. It shouldn't win, but it is good.

The only one that is funny is the last one with Twitter. The rest are duds. Expected much better.

Is it too late to switch him for Tina Fey and Amy Poehler?

Seth Macfarlane... I shall just look a the oscar results this year. I am not a fan of his comedy. I would say that Seth Macfarlane should kill himself but seeing how his whole life and career is a shitty joke chances are that he'll come back to life to repeat the joke over again and over again and over again.

I'm sure the Academy is happy as shit that the show will not include James Franco smoking weed between takes and cross dressing.
