Watch: First 'Kings of Summer' Teaser + Minor Release Date Bump

Some news about one of our favorite indies from Sundance that will hopefully break out this summer. CBS Films is releasing Jordan Vogt-Roberts' The Kings of Summer, a coming-of-age comedy formerly known as Toy's House, this summer and originally set the film for a June release against Man of Steel. The studio has now rescheduled the film for May 31st, two weeks earlier (same day as Now You See Me) and released a teaser to go along with the date change. The trailer, which is the fantastic opening scene setting the tone for the film, features quotes from Sundance reviews including our own Ben Pearson at GeekTyrant. Take a look!
Here's the very first teaser trailer for Jordan Vogt-Roberts' The Kings of Summer, found via YouTube:
Toy's House is about three teens who decide to ditch their parents and build a house to live in on their own in the nearby forest. Nick Robinson, Gabriel Basso and Moises Arias star, with Nick Offerman and Alison Brie. In my review, I called it "a refreshing contemporary coming-of-age drama thanks to director Jordan Vogt-Roberts. It's the perfect film for the YouTube generation, and I mean that in a good way." The comedy is hilarious, the characters are heartfelt, my hope is it goes on to become a hit after Sundance. CBS Films acquired Toy's House at the festival in January, retitled it to The Kings of Summer, and has scheduled it for a summer release in limited theaters starting on May 31st. We hope you are planning to see this one!
