Enemies Closer

There's been a lot of buzz surrounding Jean-Claude Van Damme lately from his viral splits stunt (parodied by Channing Tatum on the set of 22 Jump Street) to the trailer for his first comedy Welcome to the Jungle. Now we have a trailer for the action film Enemies Closer, but this film also has some hilarity sprinkled throughout, if only because Van Damme truly looks like a mad man in this story about a former Navy SEAL named Henry sent to retrieve a lost drug cartel package. But he also has to contend with Clay, a man with a personal vendetta, who is played by Orlando Jones for some reason. Honestly, this looks terrible, but at least Van Damme is keeping himself busy and seemingly having a good time. Watch below!

Here's the first international trailer for Peter Hyams' Enemies Closer, originally from Yahoo:

Enemies Closer is directed by Peter Hyams (A Sound of Thunder, The Musketeer) and written by unknown writers James & Eric Bromberg. Forest ranger and former Navy SEAL Henry (Jean-Clause Van Damme) is plunged into survival mode when a drug cartel forces him to help retrieve a downed package. Trapped in the wilderness, Henry finds himself face to face with Clay (Orlando Jones), a man with a personal vendetta against Henry who has returned for retribution. Now, the two mortal enemies must make a choice: put aside their past and work together, or die alone at the hands of the drug runners. Tom Everett Scott also stars in the film which Lionsgate will send to limited theaters and VOD early next year on January 24th, 2014.

For a split second, I thought Orlando Jones was Dennis Rodman, and I was psyched to think that maybe this is "Double Team 2", but hell, this movie looks incredibly fun to watch. I'm definitely up for this. And I kind of love Van-Damme as being the bad guy for some reason.

The feeling's mutual. And indeed, Van Damme being the bad guy is a worthy concept.

JCVD looks insanely hilarious and will make this movie watchable. More than likely I will fast forward to him and fight scenes.

Orlando Jones and Van-Damme made this movie awesome. It was like a 90's throwback and I loved it. Movies lately have been losing their flavor to me. This one brings back an old recipe that always worked. Van-Damme gives one of his best performances ever in this film. He plays the quirky, probably insane bad guy in a way that had me laughing the whole time. Not laughing at him and his performance, laughing at how "out there" he is. I have had my whole family watch this movie because they all though that MR. Van-Damme was no more. Now they understand how well he can act and still kick ass. He may not be as fast as he once was but he can still tear it up!
