Silver Linings Playbook

"The movie that became a movement." In the last week leading up to the Oscars, The Weinstein Company has released an incredibly lengthy, intimate featurette for David O. Russell's Silver Linings Playbook. The film is nominated for 8 Oscars, including Best Picture, and has been rocking at the box office in recent weeks. I'm personally not the biggest fan of the film, but I thought this impressive making-of featurette was worth mentioning anyway. Fellow noms Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper star in the film, with Robert De Niro and Jacki Weaver, all of whom appear in this along with other guests like Dr. Oz. Enjoy!

Watch the full making of featurette for David O. Russell's Silver Linings Playbook, in HD on Apple:

Silver Linings Playbook, based on Matthew Quick's novel, follows a former teacher (Bradley Cooper) who, after spending eight months in a mental institution, moves back in with his parents and tries to reconcile with his ex-wife, only to find another troubled soul (Jennifer Lawrence) who is just as lost as himself. David O. Russell writes and directs the film based on Quick's novel of the same name. Anupam Kher, Chris Tucker, Shea Whigham, John Ortiz and Julia Stiles also star. This premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, eventually being released in theaters by The Weinstein Company last November. It's still showing in theaters now (thanks to the nominations) so check your local listings to catch it. Was this anyone's favorite of 2012?

Well yea, why would you watch a 30 minute "making of" featurette and expect it not to divulge any details about the movie? Lmfao

Just saw it this afternoon. Loved it and this was the icing on the cake!

Dealing with mental issues myself, I have a very special connection to this film. I watched it about a month ago and watching this featurette brought back a lot of the wonderful emotions I felt. This is a great film that allows you to "feel" with the characters - very visceral.

The movie was decent but there's no way it should be being nominated for anything.

Wow, you're deductive powers of reasoning are intense! I didn't know that people that watch film and didn't like Silver Linings automatically must be Die Hard 6 lovers!!!!!!!

This is the film I'm rooting for winning... I know it won't (DAMMIT ARGO!!!) but I can dream.... I just hope the dream I dreamed isn't killed.
