Watch: Patton Oswalt Pitches Amazing 'Star Wars' & Marvel Crossover
This really is the week for Patton Oswalt. Following praise for his touching words about the tragedy at the Boston Marathon on Monday and yesterday's hilarious Batman sketch featuring the comedian as The Penguin, Oswalt is back in perfect form with a hilariously intricate and nerdy outtake from the NBC comedy series "Parks & Recreation." The video features Oswalt filbustering a town hall meeting in Pawnee, Indiana with a pitch about what Disney should do with Star Wars: Episode VII. Beginning with the suggestion that Brian De Palma should write the opening scrawl, this 8-minute outtake is just pure genius.
Here's Patton Oswalt's Star Wars and Marvel outtake from "Parks & Recreation" via AV Club:
Oswalt is one passionate fan about Star Wars, so the details that he offers in this outtake are already great. But when he takes it into the Marvel universe, since the comic book studio now operates under Disney, he ties Thanos, Tony Stark and other elements into the galaxy far, far away where there's a beheaded Chewbacca and an emotionally crippled Han Solo. This is seriously one of the best outtakes I've ever seen, and Patton Oswalt is incredible. By the way, if you're going to Comic-Con this summer, his plan for his new "tour" and where he'll record his next stand-up special might be of interest. Funny stuff?
