"The wrong place, at the wrong time." You know when you rent a car they tell you to choose any car? Well, what if you chose the wrong car. Oh no! What would happen? The entire city would be after you! Vehicle 19 is a thriller that takes place in and was shot in South Africa with that plot: a foreign traveler unknowingly picks up a rental car that will tie him to a web of corrupt local police. Paul Walker is the only recognizable face in this entire film, and stars as the "foreign traveler" with the car. It was filmed entirely from inside the car, and is another contained thriller, but looks interesting and seems to get very intense quickly. Any good?
Here's the very first trailer for Mukunda Michael Dewil's Vehicle 19, originally found on YouTube:
A recently paroled man unwittingly picks up the wrong vehicle, having just got off a long flight. He soon realizes he is the target of an entire police force that will use any means necessary to stop him, and the "passenger" he finds in the trunk, from getting to the courthouse to testify against top-to-bottom corruption.
Vehicle 19 is both written and directed by newcomer South African filmmaker Mukunda Michael Dewil, of only the film Retribution previously. This has yet to release in any theatres around the world, and doesn't seem to have a US distributor or US release date officially set yet. We'll have to keep an eye out. Thoughts?
