Watch: Teleportation Sci-Fi Short 'Beyond' Directed by Raphael Rogers
"I may be alone. But I'm still searching for the answers beyond that door." Save 10 minutes of your day to take a look at this. Another impressive sci-fi short film has arrived online - Beyond, directed by Raphael Rogers, starring Bianca Malinowski as the last remaining member of a family with the ability to "survive the fracturing of space & time". The concept and story in this one are the most intriguing, but there's also some great VFX work for a film made by two people using After Effects. Rogers says this was made without a crew, "just myself and Bianca." For an indie short this was a fascinating watch and I hope it inspires others.
Synopsis from Vimeo (hat tip to GeekTyrant for first finding): Arya is the last remaining member of her family, a lineage with a unique genetic code that grants the ability to survive the folding of temporal and spatial boundaries... In short, she can teleport. Tasked with exploring new planets, she is in search of something that will explain who exactly she is and where she comes from. Beyond is directed by Raphael Rogers, shot primarily with Canon cameras. "There was no crew on this shoot. Just myself and Bianca. The shoot took 3 days and post production took significantly longer." For more info on this short, go to Vimeo.
