Watch: Tom Cruise & Joseph Kosinski Talk 'Oblivion' in New Featurette

With just over a month until the release of Oblivion, it's time to let audiences what this film is all about if the trailers didn't do their job well enough. A new featurette has surfaced complete with tons of great new footage from the sci-fi film from Tron Legacy director Joseph Kosinski. The filmmaker talks about the plot and setting along with Tom Cruise, and honestly, I'm getting really excited to see how this turns out. It has flares of Moon and tons of post-apocalyptic sci-fi films from years past. My only gripe is that Cruise's character is named Jack Harper, which seems a little too much after playing Jack Reacher last year. Watch!

Kosinski's Oblivion (also known as Horizons) stars Tom Cruise as Jack Harper, plus Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Zoe Bell, Andrea Riseborough, Melissa Leo and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Living and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, Jack's soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands. Kosinski has developed this for years, with a writing credit along with William Monahan. Universal Pictures currently has Oblivion scheduled to open on IMAX screens and theaters everywhere April 19th coming up.

Obviously the twist involved Freeman and the other survivors...but surely this kinda gives away the fact that the war was probably between the ruling power and human rebels..? Unless there's a bigger twist that fucks the whole thing up?

I dont get how people are excited about this? Tron's script was absolutely trash. Nice visuals sure, but narrative was just amateur at best. Then there was the casting. It shows here. Drone repair? The horrible actress from Quantom of Solace? On top of that the trailer gives away the entire plot.

Is my imagination or this weapon is most like a copy to halo's weapon (Halo 4)?
