Watch: Trailer for James Franco's 'Palo Alto' Premiering at Telluride
Hot on the heels of the teaser for James Franco's film Child of God, another trailer has arrived that also has ties to the actor turned writer and filmmaker. However, Palo Alto isn't directed by Franco, but merely adapted from a collection of short stories, the first book from the Spider-Man star. The film premieres at the Telluride Film Festival today, so our own Alex Billington will hopefully catch it up in the mountains. The film features a series of interconnected stories with Emma Roberts in the lead as a teenage babysitter who gets some inappropriate romantic attention from Franco as a high school football coach. The other stories include Jack Kilmer (son of actor Val Kilmer, who also makes an appearance) and more. Watch below!
Here's the first trailer for Gia Coppola's Palo Alto from Vulture:
Gia Coppola, granddaughter of Francis Ford Coppola, writes directs Palo Alto, based on a collection of short stories by James Franco, who also stars in the film. From the Telluride Film Festival guide: Welcome to the Bizarro John Hughes world; this is a suburban-teen comedy gone all wrong. The kids know everything about sex, substances and suicide, but can’t begin to figure out how or what they feel. Emma Roberts leads an unforgettable cast that includes Franco, 17-year-old Jack Kilmer (his father Val plays a supporting role) and Colleen Camp. The film premieres at Telluride, but doesn't have an official release date just yet. Good?
