Though we pinpointed Rachel Weisz as the star in the green and black as the Wicked Witch of the West in a poster for Oz: The Great and Powerful. However, after speaking with Disney, the obscured face on that poster was done in order to keep the mystery about the identity of the Wicked Witch under wraps. As we know, Michelle Williams is the good witch, but either Weis or Mila Kunis could become the real Wicked Witch of the West that became so famous in The Wizard of Oz. A new TV spots aims to keep the secret as they highlight all three witches, but holds some hints to the answer. If you search online, you can spoil this plot point, but we're not going to do that, and we ask that you not do so in the comments. Watch!
Here's the new TV spot for Oz: The Great and Powerful from Disney (with a cool Emerald City logo):
When small-time magician Oscar Diggs (Franco) pulls one flimflam too many, he finds himself hurled into the fantastical Land of Oz where he must somehow transform himself into the great and powerful Wizard—and just maybe into a better man as well. Also features the three witches Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams). Disney's fantastical adventure Oz The Great and Powerful, directed by Sam Raimi (Evil Dead, Dark Man, Spider-Man, Drag Me to Hell), imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum's beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. From a screenplay by Mitchell Kapner and David Lindsay-Abaire. Disney will be sending us back to Oz on March 8th in a few months. Thoughts?
