Whoa! Seven Years Later and We Just Published our 20,000th Post

Well, here we are almost seven years later, we just published our 20,000th post on FirstShowing. I still remember when it all began. I went to camp out for Superman Returns in 2006, but discovered two pesky people had decided to beat me to the first spot, so in response I decided to start a company. That was June of 2006. Now it's summer of 2013. Zack Snyder's new take on Supes, Man of Steel, is about to hit theaters in June. We're in the middle of a new Hobbit trilogy, more Star Wars are on the way. And we've been there every day, every big story, publishing our 20,000th post after seven years of covering movie news non-stop.
I just wanted to take this moment of pause for a bit of self-reflection. I still remember complaining in high school English anytime a paper was required to be over 2 pages. Now I write 2 page papers every few hours, every single day, and have for the last seven years. According to our stats, I've written around 12,224 of the 20K articles. That's enough content for an entire book, or two or three even, and I'm still amazed I can wake up every day and write sentences people want to read. Well, not everyone, we've had our fair share of fans who've come and went, supporters and haters, plus everyone inbetween. But we're still here, still happy to bring you the latest movie news every day, and remind you why the cinematic experience is incomparable.
Thank you for being a reader. Thank you for all the endless support, loyalty, clicks and enthusiasm you've provided in return. Thank you for still loving movies and loving FirstShowing. We do all of this for you, not for the money (like some sites), and will always do our best to keep Hollywood connected with its audience.
