John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell

Following a hilarious tagteam of comedy in both Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and the superior Step Brothers, the dynamic duo of Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly will be back together again. The Wrap reports Ferrell and Reilly are attached to star in Devil's Night, a new comedy set up at Sony Pictures. The script comes from Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul (writers of Yes Man) and takes place on October 30th, the night before Halloween which is known as Devil's Night, the time when all the real mischief takes place. As you can imagine, Ferrell and Reilly are in on the craziness, but there's a genre twist.

In what sounds like a project that could blend comedy and horror, likely in the same vein of The Watch, Ferrell and Reilly play Leonard and Gabe, once childhood best friends who enjoyed Devil's Night, until it ended up tearing their friendship apart. But 15 years later, the two must put aside their differences in order to save the neighborhood from complete destruction as the night of debauchery has gotten dangerously out of control. There's no director attached yet, but with Mogel and Paul making their debut with the comedy Lawless, they could end up in the director's chair. Ferrell's Gary Sanchez Productions banner will produce, but in the meantime, we're waiting for their sequel Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. Sound good?

I didn't like Step Brothers, and I thought Talladega was okay. I think this duo will work for me with the right project around them.

If you don't think step brothers and talledega nights were the right vehicles for these two nut jobs then I'm sorry but you will never be pleased. Both films are among my favs.
HELL YEAH! I loved STEP BROTHERS. I know it is crass, and stupid, but in the best possible way.
