Anna Kendrick Sings About Love in UK Trailer for 'The Last 5 Years'
On Christmas Day, you'll get to see Anna Kendrick sing some signature tunes in Disney's adaptation of the Broadway musical Into the Woods, and if you don't want to wait until Pitch Perfect 2 hits theaters next summer (watch the teaser trailer here) to see her sing on the big screen again, we have good news. The new musical romance The Last 5 Years, picked up after its premiere at TIFF earlier this year, arrives in February, and the first trailer has arrived. It's an off-Broadway adaptation that follows a struggling relationship, but it's told in reverse chronological order. This doesn't sound polished like a big budget musical with the raw singing adding a certain amount of charm, and I like that quite a bit. Watch below!
Here's the first trailer for Richard LaGravenese's The Last 5 Years from Icon Films:
The Last Five Years is written and directed by Richard LaGravenese (Behind the Candelabra, P.S. I Love You). Jamie Wellerstein (Jeremy Jordan) is a young, talented, rising novelist who falls in love with Cathy Hiatt (Anna Kendrick), a struggling actress. Their story is told almost entirely through song. All of Cathy's songs begin at the end of their marriage and move backwards in time to the beginning of their love affair, while Jamie's songs start at the beginning of their affair and move forward to the end of their marriage. They meet in the center when Jamie proposes. Radius-TWC releases the film on February 13th, 2015.
