The cast of Judd Apatow's next comedy Trainwreck was already sounding good with comedian Amy Schumer (who also wrote the project and is helping develop) in the lead, with Bill Hader and Brie Larson in supporting roles. Now the rest of the cast has filled out splendidly with some more great comedians, a surprising couple of dramatic actors and a wrestler. The story was previously described as being about a complete basket case (Schumer) trying to rebuild her life with her boyfriend, best friend and parent in tow. Recent reports say the plot is under wraps, so we don't know what to believe, but how about the new cast?
First of all, Variety, The Wrap and THR all have different updates for the film, so let's start with the comedian additions. Mike Birbiglia (Sleepwalk with Me), Vanessa Bayer ("Saturday Night Live"), Jon Glaser ("Parks & Recreation") and Colin Quinn ("Girls") have boarded the project in unknown roles. And the same can be said for the surprising additions of Barkhad Abdi, fresh of his Oscar nomination for playing a Somali pirate in Captain Phillips, Ezra Miller of The Perks of Being a Wallflower and We Need to Talk About Kevin, and Tilda Swinton, who will reportedly be playing Schumer's boss. Oh, and if that wasn't enough, wrestler turned actor John Cena also has some sort of role too. Sounds like a crowded cast, but since this is an Apatow comedy, we'll likely have two hours to fit them all in there. Sound good?
